I never do monsters, but he just kinda showed up after I did the mountains. I have a canvas colored in red and gray acrylics and was thinking about adding a monster, so maybe he'll be part of a pair soon. My life is so terribly exciting.

I wasn't sure which I liked better. Conceptually, I like the plain white one better but I know that the shaded in one looks more finished. Meh.
Edit: Did another little dude. He reminds me a little of a mix between Heather's work, the Grinch, and a Blue Meanie. Despite taking forever for me to actually draw because of all the mistakes I make with lighting and line weight and stuff...I like him a lot!
Drew this up between classes for a little practice. I like the saying and I've been playing around with that bird figure for a bit, so this was a fun piece to do in about 30 min.For next time, I'd wanna fix the line weight on the body and the eyebrow a little bit, and maybe a few other things, but I thought it would be best to limit my time and see what I could get done within a certain time frame.
Edit: I wasn't allowing myself to not fix it. So I spent 5 more minutes and played around with it. I like this version better.
Woah, I know I was just complaining about how steep the learning curve with a tablet is, but somehow I sat down tonight and just went for it...and this came out of it. There will probably be some joke and punchline or maybe plot forwarding with this eventually, but it's almost 4 in the morning, I didn't do any homework because I got so involved with this (whoops), and this took forever to actually draw because I was figuring so many things out. So it's just gonna stay the way it is for now.
Next adventure is figuring out how to color the comics so they don't look stupidly amateurish. I also need to scan in and fix up all the other physical panels I have floating around my room. 5 page paper due Thursday. A few other things to do along the way. I can't believe I'm not even doing this for a class and I'm putting such stupid amounts of effort and thought into it. ajskdfaj
Rough first comic. Finally found my tablet stylus but it still doesn't allow me to alter the pen pressure, so the comics I do only from Photoshop look quite a bit different than the ones I've been drawing and inking in person. It's a little frustrating and super time consuming because I feel like I just learned how to draw with pens and now I have to re-learn everything with the tablet. It's not like drawing on paper at all!
Either way, I'm pretty stoked to finally have decided to just go for it. I'm not proud of it yet, but I feel like I will be soon.
